Why do I need a doula?

Birth is a natural process that should be looked at as such. Medical professionals are always preparing and looking for the worst because that is their job but in reality for most women everything will go seamlessly with no need for medical intervention. Sometimes it’s imported to have someone who looks at birth with a different perspective that can help ground you during times of stress or when fears begin to creep in. The biggest fear of most women going into birth is pain but what if I told you the biggest cause of pain in labor was just that, fear. My goal as a doula is to help you work through any fears or inhibitions you have about birth, provide you information so you can make informed choices, and leave you feeling empowered in your birth experience. I am here to remind you of your strength and to lean on when you feel you no longer have that strength.
